BARNSLEY FC fans were keen to support the club’s charity arm at their League One game against Northampton Town last weekend.

Barnsley FC Community Trust were asking locals to bring a pound to the ground to support the trust’s ongoing work in the community.

Toby Tyke joined volunteers to raise the funds, much to the delight of the trust.

Jon Flatman, chief executive officer of Barnsley FC and trustee of the community trust, said: “Barnsley FC Community Trust carry out crucial work in our local area, helping to engage people of all ages with sport and participation. This initiative will help ensure the trust can continue to tackle the important issues in the borough which have an enduring effect on a wide-range people in Barnsley.”
