PLANNING ROUND-UP: Plans to change the use of a town centre warehouse into a shisha bar and restaurant have been approved by the council.
An application was re-submitted to change the use of the first floor of the former MC Mills and Co warehouse on Lower Castlereagh Street into the shisha bar in November. These plans were given the green light by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.

A WOMBWELL pub is set to undergo a host of works after planning permission was granted by Barnsley Council. An application was submitted in November to extend The Butcher’s Arms, on High Street, and convert the first floor to residential accommodation. PLANNING permission is being sought to replace a 15-metre-high telecommunications mast in Birdwell with an even larger one. If approved, a 22.5-metre-high mast, alongside six antennas and three cabinets will be built off Sheffield Road. The public can have their say on the plans until April 2.
